Educational Shlichim in the Diaspora
The shlichim of KKL-JNF’s Overseas Education Division work in communities around the world to impart Zionist values and strengthen the connection between Diaspora Jewry and the people and land of Israel.
They play an integral role in the mission of KKL-JNF’s Education Department to cultivate leadership skills and Zionist values in the next generation of young Jewish leaders around the world.
Goals of the Shlichim in the Diaspora:
- To serve as a bridge connecting between the needs of Diaspora communities and the KKL-JNF Education Division in Jerusalem.
- To spread the educational values and vision of KKL-JNF to Diaspora communities, thereby creating a deep connection between the Jewish people and the land of Israel.
- To cultivate relationships with local educators and students, and to develop educational infrastructures in Diaspora communities.
- To provide assistance in the development of experiential educational materials and programs that impart the values of KKL-JNF in the way that is most appropriate for the local culture of each community. Topics include: the heritage, history and modern day life of the people and land of Israel, as well as environmental issues and the conservation of nature.
- To run unique informal educational programs in the existing local frameworks, including youth movements, communities centers, and schools.
- To build seminars and experiential educational day-long programs in the spirit of KKL-JNF that are appropriately adapted to meet the needs of local populations.
- To run activities for the local community that encourage social involvement, environmental awareness, Zionist values, and leadership skills.
The work of the educational shlichim is complex, diverse, and of the utmost importance, as they serve as the link between Diaspora communities and the Education Department of KKL-JNF in Jerusalem.
We invite you to send us your pictures from KKL-JNF activities around the world, along with a short description of the activity, your country, and the date it took place. You can upload your materials here. The materials will be published on our website.
