Latrun

Located on the main road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Latrun was a site of important military battles from 1948 until 1967, when it was successfully captured by Israel in the Six Day War. The heavy losses incurred in Latrun are commemorated today by KKL-JNF with the maintenance of the nearby Hulda Forest and Herzl House, as well as a special trail in the Ayalon Park that traces the story of the battles.
