Nazareth
The largest Arab city in Israel and a model for coexistence, Nazareth is the childhood home of Jesus, according to Christian tradition, and home to many sacred Christian sites. With a rich history and diverse culture, the village in northern Israel also boasts a hi-tech hub where many local Muslims, Jews, and Christians work together to develop groundbreaking technologies.Â
In the nearby Jewish town of Nof HaGalil, formerly known as Upper Nazareth, KKL-JNF opened the first of ten Houses of Excellence, an informal educational initiative that aims to empower the youth of Israel’s periphery and close socio-economic gaps in Israeli society.Â
