Israel’s First Nobel Prize in Science

This clip (3:18) from Haifa’s Technion Institute introduces Israel’s first Nobel prize winners in science: Avram Hershko and Aaron Ciechanover. They were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2004 along with American laureate Irwin Rose for their unveiling of the now widely-accepted ubiquitin system in cell biology. Their discovery advanced scientists’ understanding of the human cell and has had a major impact on human health and medicine.
